For +150 years, Scripture Union has participated, by faith, in what Jesus is doing among children worldwide. In the process, we’ve learned some valuable lessons along the way. We believe what we’ve learned should be freely shared. That said, our intent isn’t to impose our philosophy and practice of ministry (though we do attempt to build a strong case for what we believe in and do). Instead, this blog is an invitation to interact, be curious, ask questions, raise doubts, rethink everything, maybe unlearn some things, generate fresh ideas, and hopefully spark new faith-formation approaches and activities.
Children’s ministry thrives when we do it together. “Two are better than one because they have a good return for their work: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up!” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10. While Solomon aptly says, “two are better than one,” he goes on to say, “a cord of three strands is not quickly broken” Ecclesiastes 4:12. Yes, we’re better together. But we’re at our best when we’re bound to Jesus!
